Metropolitan Museum

Metropolitan Museum

You imagine the people of ancient Mexico worshiping before this statue, trembling before it, placing offerings near it. Here, as part of a series about people reacting to art or not reacting to it, the photo shows North Americans in the museum where this giant head found itself in 1991.

The High Line

High Line

This photo is posted first to grab your attention. Sex sells, even on photography blogs.

High Line

The High Line had just opened when I visited it on my birthday in 2009, and New Yorkers were busy exploring it before the tourists found out about it.

High Line

Objects just lined up this way of their own accord.

High Line

Very New York – a garden and razor wire.

High Line

A New Yorker’s lawn furniture.

The High Line

Only in New York.

High Line

The chaise longue, High Line style.

New York Botanical Garden

Monet Garden

The NY Botanical Garden has recreated Monet’s garden at Giverney. The red flowers and the green globe on the left are Papaver somniferum – the opium poppy.
