Election Night 2016, Javits Center, New York City
Covering election night 2016 at the Javits Center in New York was an almost surreal experience, with a huge crowd of Hillary Clinton supporters and many thousands of journalists enduring a long evening of hope that faded into disappointment, then tears. The candidate herself never appeared.

Roof Garden Installation at the Metropolitan Museum
“Transitional Object (PsychoBarn)” by Cornelia Parker
No one is really looking at it on a Saturday evening with two bars open on the roof garden at the Metropolitan Museum, but it’s a barn from upstate New York that the artist disassembled and installed on the roof. It’s intended to evoke the Bates mansion in Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho, and it contrasts strangely with the glass condominium tower in the background. #metroof
